The new construction real estate world is ever-changing. There are always new designs and trends being introduced. Different color fads. Innovative must-haves. Unique floor plans wanted among buyers. Sometimes this means updating not only the floor plans and paint options, but also moving around some of the approved builders in residential developments. As the real estate market is becoming more and more fierce, SDC is introducing new builders to our  builder program to better adapt to these trends.

So who are these new builders?

Although most of our communities have some similar characteristics, such as native grasses, berms, and waterways, we hand-select builders from within our program that will best fit in with the appearance of the new homes neighborhood. For example, Arbor Creek in Goddard has more of a “modern farmhouse” feel. This results in the selection of builders who can produce the look we are striving for without mimicking every other builder with a “farmhouse” design.

Speaking of Arbor Creek, there have been builder changes in this community within the last few months. We are very excited to add Buckert Contracting, Inc. to our Arbor Creek builder program. Construction on Buckert’s new model, The Ashton, has already started and will soon be ready for home buyers to walk through.

This group of builders is also approved to build in Bay Country, located in the Goddard School District on 119th and Central in Wichita.

Additionally, our northwest residential development, Estancia, has also added new builders to their approved list. In addition to Buckert Contracting, Inc., you can expect to see homes from Tri-M Construction and Artistic Builders in this boutique-style neighborhood. All three of these builders’ floor plans are phenomenal additions to the unique homes in Estancia.

Home Builders at The Coves

To add to the excitement, each of the builders in Estancia will be building homes in our new lake community, as well. This means that before the builders break ground at the location on 53rd and Tyler, home buyers can walk through new model homes by their selected builder at Estancia. The four listed above are not the only home builders that will be in the mix at The Coves—but you’ll have to wait a little longer for that announcement to be made.

The SDC Builder Program

While some new home developers allow any builders in their communities, SDC regulates which home builders are approved for a handful of reasons. First, as mentioned above, we want to make sure that our theme and concept for a particular community remain consistent. The approval process also keeps the neighborhood from becoming “cookie cutter.” Each home must be approved through a process that ensures the home is unique, because no buyer wants their custom home to look almost identical to the house next door.

The biggest and possibly most important reason for the regulation is to guarantee the buyer’s  happiness with their new construction home—determined by both the quality of work and completion of product. When home buyers purchase a lot in a Schellenberg development, they already have a specific vision in mind. By having multiple builders to choose from and even more floor plans and layouts per builder, there are more opportunities for that dream to come to fruition, constructed with the best quality and craftsmanship.
