This world we live in and the market we are selling homes in has been so strange the last couple of years. 2020 felt 10 years long and had way more downs than ups. 2021, though, has been a whirlwind. The whole year completely blew by—almost so fast that victories could hardly be celebrated. As we finally unwind and start looking back on the year, we can’t help but to take a moment to relish all we accomplished.

Progress at Arbor Creek

In the Fall 2019, we kicked off construction of our Goddard development, Arbor Creek. 2020 was full of progress for this development and in 2021, we were able to start construction on community clubhouse! This clubhouse will feature amenities such as an exercise room, pool, plenty of space to have events, a full kitchen and much more! With the difficulties faced this last year with receiving building products, construction on this building is ongoing but is set to finish this upcoming spring.

Not only did construction start on the clubhouse, but phase II of the development opened as well. This addition meant new model homes, new spec (move-in-ready) homes, and new builders! Arbor Creek progress has been moving along more quickly than we could have ever imagined. Thanks to great home builders, an amazing community manager, and raving referrals from residents, 30 lots were sold just in 2021! What an accomplishment!

Exclusively Estancia

On the north-side of Wichita, SDC had some feats at Estancia, as well! Just this year, there were 22 lots sold! While the first half of the year had a little bit of a lull, the second half boomed. This community has been in the works since 2016 and finally seeing an almost completed product. Estancia gained 3 new builders within the last quarter of the year and has been pumping out spec and model homes left and right. Such an exciting time for this community—which should have its last lot sold by beginning of 2023.

2021 Additions

Not only did this year further establish our ongoing communities, but it also led to the announcement of a brand-new lake community in Maize, called The Coves. This new home neighborhood was announced at the very beginning of the year and immediately had a great response. So far, lots are flying off the map with sales. We cannot wait to see what 2022 has in store for this lake community.

Other feats from this last year include:

  • Selling the final lot in Bay Country
  • Hiring 2 new employees to help with our growth
  • Adding a new office puppy to the mix

Looking Forward to 2022

Although we aren’t ready to reveal all of what we have in store for this upcoming year, there are some definite goals that we are striving for:

  • Completion of Arbor Creek Clubhouse
  • Start of additional amenities at Arbor Creek
  • Finishing Estancia
  • Completing model homes in The Coves for the Fall Parade of Homes
  • Hiring more community managers for our residential additions.

2022 has big shoes to fill, but our office is ready take on whatever the year has laid out for us and exceed our goals just as we did in 2021.
